Hello &
Goodbye
Hello. Well, I am back, but not for too long. It's time for me to move on. I have had a lot of fun making UT mods but now I realize I neither have the time nor interest anymore to continue with it. So, without further ado, I'm calling it quits. I sincerely hope you enjoyed the stuff I released, it was fun making it, and I'll keep it online for as long as possible. I cease to support it, however, so make use of what is available here and elsewhere instead of asking me personally. I'm going to ignore UT-related mail from now on, sorry, I also have to freeze the forums. Since I can't go on moderating them, it's the only sensible choice, I'd not like them to be abused for flamewars or cheating. They shall remain as a static source of information for now. That's it, that's all, please don't make a big deal out of it. I might be back with UW mods at a later time. Or might not. One never knows. So take care, all of you, and enjoy yourselves. Goodbye. UPDATE: I've been overwhelmed by the response to this post. It apparently came as a surprise, to say the least, for some of you. People were shocked why I left so suddenly. Looks like my leave notice was a little cryptic. Let me try to clarify. 1. I didn't actually leave suddenly. My leaving is unrelated to the harddisk problem. It was planned for months, Epic knew it, and I didn't leave earlier because of an Epic project I worked on. Neither did I drop out, nor did they let me go, we'll remain on the best of terms. So I didn't really leave Epic at all. 2. I'm not leaving UT itself. To the contrary, I finally have the time to actually play the game again, as I did today over the office LAN. I'll not play online using my real nick, though, so any Eavy you meet probably is an impersonator. Frag him for me, please, and enjoy it. Those who really know me will have no problem recognizing my style, however, I don't plan to play online. 3. I won't remove my UT Mods site, shutting it down only means I don't expect any future updates, I don't have the time to make or maintain mods anymore. So what happened? It's very simple. I got an offer I couldn't reject! A new job, too big to continue mod development, that's why I gave it up. Last but not least I'd like to add some special thanks to Epic Games (especially Cliffy) and Planet Unreal (especially QAPete) and of course all of my fans and other supporters. Thanks to all of you. 'nuff said, now go back and play my favorite game, UT. Edited by: 0 Eavy 0 |
